We invite you to join us for the first annual Google in Education Fairfax Summit to be held at Lee High School on August 19th and 20th, 2013. This high intensity two day event focuses on deploying, integrating, and using Google Apps for Education and other Google Tools to promote student learning in K-12 and higher education. The program features Google Certified Teachers, Google Apps for Education Certified Trainers, practicing administrators, solution providers, Google engineers, and representatives from the Google education teams.

Dr. John Bailey is a trained volcanologist and was previously an Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he split time between working as a geovisualization specialist for a climate change research group and teaching for the Geography department. In December 2013 he left academia , and a few weeks later joined the Google Earth Outreach Team as program manager for GeoEDU. John’s goal is to promote understanding and stewardship of Earth through the use of innovative technologies. He loves to travel and explore new places and landscapes for himself, and to teach educators and students how they can use Google Geo tools to understand the planet we live on.
